We just can’t seem to resist picking up at least one new columbine plant each year. The coloration they display is truly remarkable. But even more than the color, the shapes are what get my attention, particularly the long spurs which sometimes appear to be tentacles reaching out to grab on to anything within their reach. For this slideshow I focused on the interesting shapes I found on the newest addition of our columbine family.

Beautiful series of photos! We usually have a columbine growing in our little greenhouse each summer. They are very pleasant plants to have around!

  2. I love columbine-one of my all time favorites. And that one is a beauty!
