The Versatile Blogger Award

The Versatile Blogger Award is one of the accolades bestowed by members within the WordPress community.

To my surprise, my blog, btweenblinks has been nominated for this prestigious award. In order to satisfy the terms of acceptance, I must do the following:

  • Display the Versatile Blogger graphic on my blog site
  • Thank the blogger who nominated me and provide a link to their site.
  • Share 7 random things about myself
  • Select 15 blogs or bloggers I have recently discovered or follow regularly and nominate them for the Versatile Blogger Award
  • Inform the bloggers of their nominations

I am extremely grateful to Lemony(Gr)Egghead for this generous nomination. Her enthusiasm for my posts has been a real inspiration. Thanks so much Lemony!

Lemony has a gift for taking that which is ordinary, and somehow elevating it into something extraordinary. Through the lens of her camera she seeks out those things we pass by every day without even being aware of them. She allows us to see something familiar in a fresh new way, so we can’t help but to stop and take notice.

I would urge you to take some time to check out her site: http://lemonygregghead.wordpress.com/

Seven Random Facts About Myself

  1. For several years I held off starting an online site because I didn’t like the word “blog”. I also have issues with “google” and “twitter”.
  2. I love designing mazes, but I have the worst sense of direction of anyone I know.
  3. As a left hander, I consider the right handed oven mitt to be one of the cruelest and most maniacal household inventions known to man (the back side is only covered with a thin piece of material), followed by right handed scissors (my thumb doesn’t bend that way).
  4. At times, I tend to ramble and over-explain things (refer to number 3).
  5. I got my first dental cavity when I was almost 30, and I still have one of my baby teeth.
  6. I like eating sweetened condensed milk straight out of the can. Yum, yum.
  7. I love campfires!

Okay, now that I have bared my soul, onto my nominations.

Nominations for the Versatile Blogger Award

Listed below are either sites I have been following for some time, or blogs which I discovered quite recently, and can’t wait to explore further. I would guess that some of these have already been nominated for this award. If this is the case, or you just don’t want to take the steps required to accept the nomination, no problem. Just consider the nomination to be an expression of my gratitude for all I have received from your posts.

    Congratulations on your award!

And thank you so much for your nomination of my site. I’ve had a few very busy days, but I’m working on a response… with luck I’ll get it done today. But I’m the sort who always uses 10 words when 4 will do, so it’s taking a while. ;D

  2. Great post! Thank you for the nice comments. I can’t BELIEVE you design mazes! It’s my most VERY favorite kind of “doodle” (ask any of my colleagues): my notebooks are loaded. For me, I think it has something to do with one of 7 things I listed in my acceptance post: the calming effect of 90-degree angles… not to mention the wonderful visual nature of mazes. AND I ALSO have the worst sense of direction (my family and friends can confirm that.) I just had to mention that.

Anyway, I really enjoyed reading your list and can’t wait to work my way through your nominations. I see we both nominated “microfishing,” such a fabulous site.

I’ll look forward to your future posts. Congratulations on the award!

  3. That’s so neat, by the way, how you tucked the award on the back of the frog on your header. How did you do that?!

  5. Maybe you will enjoy Vi Hart, if you have not already discovered her and her penchant for squiggle mazes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profilepage&v=ik2CZqsAw28
